About Us
We put the shop
around the corner
on your phone
Lvkart started in Kolkata with a simple observation: the shops people already trust were losing customers to marketplaces that had never set foot in the city. So we built a marketplace for those shops instead.
Our Story
In 2024 a handful of grocery stores in Behala were taking orders over WhatsApp — screenshots of lists, payments over UPI, deliveries by whoever was free. It worked, and it did not scale. We wrote the first version of Lvkart for those twelve shops.
Two years on, the same idea runs across 25 cities: a customer app that shows you every store near you, a seller app that fits in a shopkeeper's pocket, and a delivery layer that gets the order across town the same day.
We are not trying to be the biggest marketplace in India. We are trying to be the one your neighbourhood actually needs.
- 2024
Lvkart starts as a WhatsApp ordering group for twelve stores in Kolkata.
- 2025
The customer and seller apps launch. Coverage grows to five cities in West Bengal.
- 2026
10,000 stores, 25 cities, and a delivery network that reaches most of eastern India.
What We Stand For
Four commitments that decide what we build and who we work with.
Local first
Every rupee spent on Lvkart stays in the neighbourhood it came from. We only onboard sellers who actually operate in the cities they serve.
Fair to sellers
Transparent commissions, no hidden listing fees, and payouts on a published schedule. Sellers should be able to predict their cash flow.
Honest to buyers
Real store ratings, real delivery estimates, and a return policy written in plain language.
Simple by default
A shopkeeper with one smartphone should be able to run a full storefront. If a feature needs a manual, we have not finished designing it.
